THE ESSENTIALS WE BELIEVE:

 <<< back to "What we believe"

1. GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. We believe in one God – who has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Co-eternal in being, co-eternal in nature, co-equal in power and glory, having the same attributes and perfections
Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14, Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2;
Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

2. JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal to us what God is like and to redeem sinful man (John 1:1–2, 14; Luke 1:35).
Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.
He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to judge the living and the dead and to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords forever. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry as our Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
(Acts 1:9, 10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:24; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1–2)
(1 Peter 4:5; Romans 14:9; 2 Timothy 4:1)
(Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3–5)
Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30;
Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4;
Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ and to convict them of their sin, of what is right, and of judgment. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.
He gives understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Romans 8:9;
2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8;
1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

4. THE BIBLE

The Holy Bible (Old and New Testament Scriptures) is the verbally inspired God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
The Bible is the final authority for faith and life, inerrant, infallible sufficient in all maters and requires no additional help from man made sources.
Jesus said, “Use the truth to make them holy. Your word is truth.” John 17:17 (Nirv)
2 Sam7:28, 2 Timothy 3:16.17; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Prov 30:5,
Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5, Matthew 5:18; John 16:12, 13

5. HUMAN BEINGS

People are made in the image and likeness of God, to be like Him in character.
People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has
tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin” and through Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; man is totally depraved and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. This attitude separates people from God and is the root cause of many problems in life.
Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 3:22, 23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3, 12
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2

6. SALVATION

Salvation is God’s free gift to us brought to man by grace but we must accept it
by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ! We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.
Only by trusting in Jesus Christ whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Ephesians 2:8–10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18–19).
Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5;
Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

7. ETERNAL SECURITY

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in their salvation for eternity We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.
It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security. We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, which clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion for continuing in sin.
(John 6:37–40; 10:27–30; Romans 8:1, 38, 39; 1 Corinthians 1:4–8; 1 Peter 1:5)
John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5,
(Romans 13:13, 14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11–15)

8. ETERNITY

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal duration.
Mt 25:46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18;

9. THE CHURCH

We believe that the church, which is the body and espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons
(Ephesians 1:22, 23; 5:25–27; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; 2 Corinthians 11:2).
We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures (Acts 14:27; 18:22; 20:17; 1 Timothy 3:1–3; Titus 1:5–11). We recognize believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper as scriptural means of testimony for the church (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 2:41, 42; Acts 18:8; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).

10. YOUR LIFE

No one is an accident. There is a purpose and Destiny for every person.
We believe that God has created You and placed on the Earth for a reason. You were designed for a unique purpose and destiny, which he planned out before you were even born.
You cannot discover or work out your purpose alone because God designed you to be with others and as part of his greater plan for the world we live in. By enjoying a close relationship with God as he guides you and with other Christians in Gods family God will lead you into a place of fulfillment and peace and joy.
